Water Testing- Legionella
Legionnaire’s disease is a severe form of pneumonia or lung infection caused by inhaling small droplets of legionella contaminated water. There’s no discrimination when it comes to where legionella can grow but there are steps businesses and landlords can take to ensure their employees, customers and members of the public are protected from it as much as possible.
Ensuring that your premises has regular legionella testing is the key to guaranteeing the safety of employees and those around. The regularity of your checks depends on your water filtration and storage systems as well as the outcome of your risk assessment and use of premises.
It is vital that your legionella testing is completed by a competent person, the sampling method should be carried out in accordance with British Standard BS7592 and the biocide, if used, neutralised where possible. Water samples should be tested by a UKAS-accredited laboratory that takes part in a water microbiology proficiency testing scheme.

-As with all of our services at Capital Risk Consultancy you will be allocated a named Admin contact as well as a named water testing expert. This is to ensure you know who to contact should you have any questions related to the services you require.
-Upon initial inquiry we will try to establish an overview of your requirements as well as an understanding of your business/ premises this will enable us to tailor our service to your individual requirements and ensure any site visits are conducted in the least disruptive manner.
-The water testing expert will conduct a site visit to complete a risk assessment as well as conduct initial water testing. Whilst on this visit they will inspect any risk mitigation features you already have in place so if necessary they are able to recommend more effective measures when they present you with their findings.
-Upon the completion of the water testing and risk assessment the water safety expert will book a meeting with you to discuss their findings and what if any actions need to be taken as a result of them. (Please note this may be conducted via virtual meeting)
-They will then work with you to meet the recommended changes whilst keeping inline with your business requirements and setting a renewal schedule to ensure legislative compliance.
