Emergency Lighting;
At Capital Risk Assessment we know that navigating your way through legislative responsibility can be a daunting experience. That is why we have broken it down into different steps to make it easy for our customers to ensure they are getting the support that is tailored to their needs. Emergency Lighting is no different, BS5266 states that emergency light fittings should be able to operate for 3 hours following a mains power failure. As well as this emergency exits need an emergency exit luminaire above the door and signage to the emergency exit. There also needs to be lighting for every change in direction leading to an escape door. On top of that you are then faced with the options of maintained, non-maintained and switchable emergency lighting.
How we make sure your emergency lighting needs are covered;
Full new installation;
One of our emergency lighting experts will visit your premises and carry out an assessment identifying the key places for emergency lighting to be fitted. Within this visit they will also be able to advise you as to which option of emergency lighting would be most suitable for your property whilst determining the best placement for essential signage. Once they have completed this they will draw up an installation plan that complies with UK legislation and you will receive a quote for the work to be completed.
We will work with you to arrange a suitable day and time for works to be carried out to ensure it is the least disruptive to your business.
Following the working being completed the emergency lighting expert will visit the property again to finalise the assessment and certify the installation. A digital copy of the assessment and certificate will be sent to you for your records. This certificate will be valid for 12 months and will be covered by our liability insurance for the lifespan of that certification (t&cās apply)
Once you are due for renewal we will send you a reminder to ensure you are able to book in a review and maintain compliance with legislation.
Assessing, Servicing, Repairs and Maintenance;
One of our emergency lighting experts will visit your premises and carry out an assessment of your existing emergency lighting. Within this assessment they will identify any areas of non-compliance or concern. If the system or any of the lighting requires upgrading or fixing then our lighting expert will ensure they source the correct equipment on your behalf and have it installed correctly.
Once this is completed the emergency lighting expert will certify the lighting and a copy of this will be provided to you digitally for your records. We will then send you a reminder to service this annually to ensure there are no issues in the future.
