PAT Testing;

At Capital Risk Consultancy we understand that PAT Testing is a vital legal component to ensuring that employees, customers and members of the public remain safe. Its intended purpose it to confirm that portable electrical equipment is deemed safe and is being used for its intended purpose.

PAT Testing is to be completed by a competent person, they will divide the relevant equipment into 3 different classes.

  • Class 1 has a basic insulation with earth connection which requires a requires a earth continuity test.

  • Class 2 has double or reinforced insulation without an earth connection.

  • Class 3 is known as separated extra low voltage which means it will not exceed 50vac and therefore does not require testing
